8th grade Linear Data Deductions Project

- This file includes four sheets. The first two come from Tech Steps and can be used as the Tech Step directions indicate. The last two sheets of data are from the CIA World Fact Book to use with students during the last day of the project to assess their understanding.

Database Analysis - redesigned for WV History
- Lesson Plan for "Central Database Analysis" to be completed in WV History. Easily changed to match other Science CSO's as well. The entire course is already created on Moodle to use with your students, so please email Lezlie Barton at lbarton@access.k12.wv.us if you would like access to the Moodle course.

Database Analysis - redesigned for Solar System Unit

- Lesson Plan for "Central Database Analysis" modified for researching and comparing the parts of the solar system.
- Database in Excel to use with students. The second column, Types, is a drop down list created to lead your discussion on data validation. Have students to click on cell B2 to see the menu. There is a second worksheet that contains websites that students might use to find the information requested. Click on "Websites" at the bottom of the file to see these sites.

From Issue to Action
- Lesson Plan for "From Issue to Action" that can be completed in WV History, Science, or Advisor/Advisee.

- Use the first three slides to teach students the basics of researching online. On the fourth slide, insert your favorite search engines and link them to provide easy access to show examples to the class.

Animate a Change (As part of "From Issue to Action")
- This SMART Notebook file outlines the basic steps to take durin the Animate a Change tech step. It also has two example Power Points linked to the file.
- This example will allow students to learn how to save power point slides as JPEG images and start their final product.
